Self Love Non-Fiction

Self-Love Non-Fiction

Physician of the Soul:  This is a book I discovered when I was recovering from cancer.  I am familiar with the ideas that the purpose of a Jewish man is to study the Torah, or the purpose of a Jewish man is to perform the mitzvot.   This book says that the purpose of a sick person is to get well.

72 Names of God Meditation:  This seems like any little book of daily mediation, but it is grounded in the Kabbalah.  Kabbalahists believe that saying certain names of God has special power.  This book gives the 3-letter names of God.  Observant Jews recite the entire Torah during the year, because it is a name of God.  It is believed that God created the world by saying the Word.  We don't know what the Word is, but we know it is a discrete structure like DNA.

People Styles at Work:  This is about how to work with others, especially those who you wouldn't choose to work with if you had a choice.

This is How:  His solutions might not be for everyone.  But Augusten Burroughs has survived some difficult situations and he has some sharp solutions.

I read a lot of fiction, mostly about people in difficult situations.  I read a great deal, fiction and non-fiction, about civilian life in nazi Germany.  But this list is all non-fiction:

Yoga Nidra for Peace and Meditation:  I can never get enough of this recording.  Much is what is great and lovable about ourselves is not our individuality, but what we generally have in common.
